CTE TEKS - Implemented 2017-2018, adopted in 2015

Digital Media course scope and sequence within the Information Technology Career Cluster® summarizes the content to be taught, and one possible order for teaching the units of instruction. A brief description of each unit and the corresponding TEKS are included. This scope and sequence may be adapted or adopted by the local education agency.

Based on the House Bill 5 Foundation High School Program, the Multimedia Producer program of study within the Information Technology Career Cluster® provides helpful information, including the core courses and career-related electives in high school that will help prepare students for their career goals. This document is designed for students, but can also be used by administrators, counselors, teachers, business and industry representatives, and parents.

This lesson introduces students to the components involved in writing movie scripts. Students will have the opportunity in groups to create their own movie scripts. 

In this lesson, students learn to develop skills pertaining to digital media. This is an extension of both the Photo Editing Basics and Career Exploration Lesson Plans.

In this lesson, students will demonstrate employability skills in the IT career field, and learn to incorporate various digital media products into an electronic document such as a newsletter, social media outlet, poster, or report.

This lesson introduces students to audio recording. With the use of a sound recording program, the student will be able to produce an appropriate .wav file to the satisfaction of the instructor.

This lesson guides students to develop a portfolio, to find employment opportunities in the IT industry with a focus on digital media.

In this lesson, students learn the components of video production. Students will have the opportunity to create storyboards as well as create a video presentation to teach the public about the components of video production.
